Guerrieri Rizzardi – Improving
Working Conditions with
Robotics
Guerrieri Rizzardi has a long tradition of producing refined
wines, with environmental awareness and innovation as
key pillars in preserving their vineyards and enhancing wine
quality. This year, their efforts were recognised with the
prestigious Equalitas certification for sustainability
Viticulture demands intensive labour, requiring both
precision and physical strength. Tasks such as grape
harvesting, vine pruning, weeding, mowing, and soil
management take time and require skilled workers, a
resource that is becoming increasingly scarce. Additionally,
Guerrieri Rizzardi’s vineyards are located in hilly terrain,
adding another level of difficulty.
To reduce the workload, Guerrieri Rizzardi has introduced
robotic technology. These robots alleviate physical strain
on workers and free up time so employees can focus on
the artistic side of winemaking. Furthermore, the use of
herbicides is significantly reduced, as robots can frequently
weed around the vines, fostering a healthier ecosystem for
plant and animal life in the vineyards.
By integrating robotics into their vineyards,
Guerrieri Rizzardi successfully combines tradition
with innovation, ensuring both sustainable and
efficient production.
